RANKING COUNTRIES BY THE METHOD OF RATING: THE SCIENTIFIC ANALYSIS OR MANIPUL ATION TECHNOLOGY?

Abstract

The article presents an analysis of the international political ratings. The position of Russia in relation to the CIS countries and the BRICS was calculated. The position of Russia on Turkey was analyzed with considering urgency of the Russian-Turkish relations. CIS countries and the BRICS are the reference group for Russia. Relations with the CIS countries and the BRICS represent an important part of Russia’s geopolitical strategy. The article analyzes point of view of Western European and American experts to the position of Russia in relation to these countries. The geopolitical vectors of Russian foreign policy were substantiated on the basis of the rating data. The engagement of international ratings and indices were analyzed in the context of Western liberal values. On the one hand, the compilation of ratings is considered as one of the types of scientific analysis, based on the method of classification. On the other hand, the ratings of compiling indices represent the manipulation of technology in the interests of individual countries and groups.
