Prospects for the Development of Direct Democracy Mechanisms Using Information and Communication Technologies

Abstract

This article discusses theoretical issues related to the possibilities of widespread implementation of direct democracy mechanisms provided to society and the state as a result of the rapid development of information and communication technologies. The relevance of the topic is due to the challenges faced by governments of all the democratic countries of the world in the framework of post-industrial society. The work aims to study the prospects for improving the efficiency of democratic processes through the introduction of information technology. The underlying mechanisms of direct edemocracy are examined, and their application in practice is analyzed. Research methods include a review of relevant sources and scientific literature, analysis of relevant statistics, analysis and synthesis methods, and content analysis.
