<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The paper presents experts’ forecasts of an aggravation of information warfare in the conditions of transforming the existing world order. The importance of new media as the major source of information for news and political content in the ongoing digitalization of all spheres of human activity is growing. Virtual network communities now serve as both content distributors and coordinating centers for managing political processes, including both positive and illegal content.</p><p>This trend is fully characteristic of the Russian Federation, where the Telegram messenger plays a special role.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>новые медиа</kwd><kwd>виртуальные сетевые сообщества</kwd><kwd>информационно-коммуникационные технологии</kwd><kwd>телеграм-каналы</kwd><kwd>информационно-психологические операции</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>new media</kwd><kwd>virtual network communities</kwd><kwd>information and communication technologies</kwd><kwd>telegram channels</kwd><kwd>information and psychological operations</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Суворова А.
