<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>This article is devoted to the practice of public speaking as an opportunity to apply the method of mutual learning in the digital age, including in distance learning, when studying English as a foreign language in a non-linguistic university. An overview of the applications that have dominated the market over the past years is given to create presentations with an analysis of their popularity in the Russian Federation and the world based on data provided by the American transnational corporation Google. It also offers information about the emergence of such a phenomenon as globalization in the context of the dialogue of cultures. The etymology of the concept of “presentation” is revealed and the main stages of the emergence of the program for preparing and viewing Microsoft Office PowerPoint presentations are outlined. A brief excursion into the history of mutual learning is made, and the transformation of the practical application of this method from Ancient Greece to the present day is described, both in real space and on the Internet.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>презентация</kwd><kwd>выступление</kwd><kwd>диалог</kwd><kwd>учение через обучение</kwd><kwd>взаимное обучение</kwd><kwd>образование</kwd><kwd>интернет-технология</kwd><kwd>EFL</kwd><kwd>английский язык</kwd><kwd>речь</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>presentation</kwd><kwd>performance</kwd><kwd>dialog</kwd><kwd>learning through learning</kwd><kwd>mutual learning</kwd><kwd>education</kwd><kwd>internet technology</kwd><kwd>EFL</kwd><kwd>English language</kwd><kwd>speech</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Епишкин Н.И.
